Acer Liquid A1 gjorde i veckan premiär och är i förhållande till specifikationerna en mycket prisvärd telefon, vad sägs om 3.5″ skärm och en 768MHz Snapdragon-processor för 3.5-4k? För att göra saken ännu bättre har en forumanvändare på MoDaCo i samarbete med Cyanogen redan rootat telefonen.

Själva rootningen är extremt enkel att genomföra och kräver inte ens att man installerar Googles SDK för Android. Sätt telefonen i bootloaderläget, anslut den till datorn och kör ett script och sedan är det hela färdigt.

Uppdatering 10/12 00:28: Fungerar för närvarande endast med firmware 1.002.03 EMEA GEN1.

How to use Superboot – Windows, Linux and OSX

1. Download the Superboot zip file and extract to a directory
2. Put your device in bootloader mode – turn if off, remove battery plug in power cable, when battery icon appears onscreen, replace battery then tap the powerbutton while holding the Camera key
3. WINDOWS – double click ’install-superboot-windows.bat’
4. MAC – Open a terminal window to the directory containing the files, and type ’chmod +x install-superboot-mac.sh’ followed by ’./install-superboot-mac.sh’
5. LINUX – Open a terminal window to the directory containing the files, and type ’chmod +x install-superboot-linux.sh’ followed by ’./install-superboot-linux.sh’
