Cerberus drar tillbaka utlovade ”livstidslicenser”

I slutet av april förra året delade säkerhetstjänsten Cerberus ut ”livstidslicenser” av sin Androidapp. Verktyget låter bland annat användare fjärrstyra enheter, rensa lagring, låsa enheter på håll, spela in ljud från mikrofon och spåra tappade enheter.

Nu har Cerberus dragit tillbaka de påstådda livstidslicenser som delades ut förra året. Som förklaring skriver företaget bara att de tyvärr inte kan låta licenserna gälla permanent. Sannolikt visade det sig bli ekonomiskt ohållbart.

Your Cerberus license is expiring in a week. If you received it in a ”free licenses” promotion, we are sorry but we could not make those licenses last for a lifetime. We hope Cerberus helped you recover a lost or stolen device during these years, and that you will consider buying a license.
