Guide: [.726] [Lollipop] Working Recovery, Root, Xposed Guide!

Hello my firends!
Maybe some don't know who I am so I will introduce myself first.
So my name is Keisuke Honda, like the japanese football player haha. I have been working as developer for sony since December, so I am here just to help users out!

Today I will tell you guys how to get fully working root,recovery and xposed on the firmware 5.0.2 .726 version.
First thing i want you guys to do is to download a few things!

Solution 1 (For LOCKED BOOTLADER)

Download Flashtool: http://www.flashtool.net/downloads.php
install it under C:\, so the location should be "C:\Flashtool"

Go to this site and download 17.1.2.A.0.314 firmware: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showth
Place the file under "C:\Flashtool\firmwares"
Open up FlashTool and click on the lightning symbol and select the .314 firmware.
You will get a notify when to put your phone into flashmode so turn off your phone hold down volume down and plug in to your computer and let it flash.

After flash go to settings, about phone and click where it says 17.1.2.A.0.314 a couple of times so developement is unlocked.
Go in there and check in "USB debugging"

Next step is go to your web browser on your phone and write in towelroot.com, press on the symbol!
The apk should download so install it and open it and click make it ra1n. You should now have root.
After that go to http://nut.xperia-files.com/ and download the latest Z2-lockeddualrecovery2.8.12-RELEASE.installer.zip.
Open the .bat file, plug in device and type in method 3 when the program is asking you.

.IF YOU ALREADY HAVE ROOT AND RECOVERY SKIP THE STEPS ABOVE!

Go to recovery and flash the .690 pre-rooted file.


Let the system boot, next go and download dualrecovery and choose method 3.
Reboot to recovery and flash the .726 flashable.zip, debloating script-safeboot, xposed files,flash_removed_apps, updated-sdcard1-rw.


Solution for Unlocked Bootlader

Make sure you are on .690 firmware and get yourself a recovery: http://nut.xperia-files.com/ download this file:
Z2-lockeddualrecovery2.8.12-RELEASE.installer.zip
Make sure you check in USB debuging on. open the .bat file and select method 3 installation.
When done reboot your phone into recovery and flash the files.

Enjoy working .726 with root and working xposed!

If i use solution 1, will the bootloader still be locked after?

I want my phone so close to stock as possible, but still rooted. Been waiting for the Community RootKit for some time now, and it seems to be dead.

 

Device will still be locked after. This is very simple if you just read and understand haha

 

Update: Discovered some flashing errors with locked bootloader caused because older firmware not supported by the kernel version built in lollipop kernel and baseband. So updated with better and faster solution!

 

Mr RAMGuy, i don't really understand this, "Next write in "fastboot flash boot boot.img" after that write "fastboot reboot" , where am i supposed to write it?

You write it in command prompt. When flashing cwm place the files inside the folder into a new created folder, hold down shift and right click and select open in command prompt

So I have the .690. I unlocked my boot loader from Sonys website. And then I used the downloaded NUT's software, the files transferred sucessfully. But Im not sure I booted into "recovery" correctly.

I used a app to check if I have root, and I don't.

Basicly, I cant boot in to recovery. I am probably doing it wrong.

 

Download abricot latest kernel and extract the files. Rename the (.img) file to (abricot.img). Turn off phone, put in fastboot mode (device off, hold volume up while connect to pc) inside abricot map hold down shift and right click. Select open in command prompt. Write down fastboot flash boot abricot.img. And then fastboot reboot. Let it boot to system at first boot. Reboot later to recovery

.690 here. I have not encountered any problems so far.

 

Great! I suppose you do not use xposed? You would have bootloops if so xD

 

Hehe nope dont got Xposed A little side question, if I decide to install CM12, do I loose the function of using PlayStation Dualshock 4 wirelessly?

 

Does it even work when unlocked bootlader? :O (nvm, just reminded i patched it before)
With CM based rom it wont atlest work

Update: A little easier method here. When you are at locked bootlader you do NEED to have root if you want recovery. I switched in guide the rooting method on firmware .314, from CWM flashing to just using towelroot.com method which is easier!

 

Has someone tried this yet? I need atleast feedback if it works good!
