Enligt ett uttalande på LG Mobiles facebooksida, samt på LG:s svenska facebooksida, så har den koreanska jätten nu officiellt beslutat att uppdatera Optimus 2X, Optimus Black och Optimus 3D till Android 4.0, även känd som Ice Cream Sandwich.

Turerna och förseningarna kring OS-uppdateringarna av LG:s Optimus-serie har varit många och långa och inte minst här på Swedroid har vi under hela 2011 kunnat följa den växande frustrationen.

Att LG nu officiellt går ut och meddelar att dessa tre telefoner kommer uppdateras till 4.0 torde glädja många, men samtidigt är frågan på de flestas läppar exakt när utrullningen kan tänkas ske, samt om de kommer lyckas hålla schemat den här gången.

Announcing the initial plan for Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade

LG confirms today that the Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) OS will be initially available for the following high-end LG smartphones which were introduced this year: the Optimus 2X, the Optimus Black, the Optimus 3D and the Optimus LTE. We are also continuing to evaluate the ICS OS to determine whether it is compatible with the functionality, features and performance of other LG smartphones to make the ICS OS available on as many LG smartphones as possible.

In December this year, the forthcoming upgrade schedule and additional specific models for the ICS OS upgrade will be posted on our LG Mobile Global Facebook page (www.facebook.com/LGMobile) and on our local LG websites. Please stay tuned for more updates from LG.

 
Schemat för utrullningen av Android 4.0/Ice Cream Sandwich kommer som synes presenteras i december, och vi hoppas naturligtvis att LG efter ett ur uppdateringssynpunkt bedrövligt 2011 ser till att 2012 blir bättre.
