Under den pågående MWC-mässan i Barcelona passade den taiwanesiska halvledattillverkaren MediaTek på att presentera företagets nya chipp MT6753. Bakom det sexiga modellnamnet finner vi bland annat en åttakärnig 64-bitsprocessor (ARM Cortex-A53) på 1,5 GHz per kärna samt grafikkretsen Mali-T720.

Utöver ovanstående meddelas det att MT6753 även har fått stöd för den mobila nätverksstandarden WorldMode, vilket innebär att telefoner och plattor med ett och samma chipp kan koppla upp sig mot en rad olika mobila nätverk världen över.

MediaTek siktar med MT6753 på mellanklassegmentet för mobila enheter och skall vara tillgänglig på marknaden under det andra kvartalet 2015.
