Is my phone dead?

Hi,

I did a terribly stupid thing with my phone!

Today I just rooted my milestone, and I tried to install launcher from this instruction:

In the last steps, I couldn't remount it. I skipped this step and rebooted. My phone didn't start up (hanging at splash screen).
I tried to do factory reset. I can go to setup wizard. I can do some steps until the end the setup wizard crashes (Forced close) and goes back to the first step again
Someone told me that if I used adb to reinstall the launcher, it would be solved. But I can't go to Settings and turn on "USB debugging" mode to make adb see my phone.
I don't know what to do now. I don't think my new phone is dead

Can anyone please help me!!!!

 

You should try to do the steps from the beginning again, it doesnt seem that you have bricked your phone because then you wouldnt even be able to start it at all.

Are you able to start into some kind of first level boot mode? where you are able to access the phones internals via adb?

 

Try a factory reset!

 

Try to flash a custom rom and your problem will be fixed

As the others said, do a factory reset and install a ROM. That's just about all you can do for her.

If you fail, you can always sell the body to some company, Envirofone for an example.

If that happens; I'm sorry for your loss.
